On pulling from the heartstrings

The source fuel for creativity is best found within our inner motive. Why is it that we are here to do this work? How can we uniquely tap into our heart space and into a stream of boundless inspiration? The first stage is to deepen our knowledge of our own inner selves and the areas therein we can leverage our most most powerful strengths. Pulling from the heartstrings asks us as designers to take root into our core ethos—the guiding values that propel us in our work. This is when the tune of out heart comes alive.

Protecting time to explore our selves as designers in a key ingredient to thriving in our work. Tapping into the heart-space can replenish empty reservoirs in our mind and spirit—an essential component to tap into a clear and driven mind.

Consider your alignment to your existing work. To what end are you energetically pulling from the heartstrings? Take a moment to list the core design values you are upholding in your current work. What areas are weak? How might you garner a more impactful approach to your design assignment?
