The airline with the highest growth in Africa is Ethiopian Airlines (Ethiopian). Ethiopian has grown to be one of the continent’s top airlines in its more than 70 years of existence, unmatched in effectiveness and operational success.

The largest aviation group in Africa, Ethiopian Airlines Group, is happy to report that it has successfully finished a new passenger terminal at its primary airport, Addis Abeba Bole International Airport, with a focus on biosecurity and biosafety procedures.

The new terminal features a check-in hall with 60 check-in counters, 30 self-check-in kiosks, 10 self-bag drop/SBD, 16 immigration counters with enhanced e-gate features, and 16 central security screening spaces for leaving passengers. It also includes 10 remote contact gates with travelators, escalators, and panoramic elevators, along with three contact gates for wide-body aircraft. It will have eight e-gate provisions and 32 arrival immigration counters at the mezzanine floor level.

Mr. Tewolde GebreMariam, Group CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, commented on the upgraded infrastructure, saying, “I am really thrilled to witness the realization of a brand-new terminal at our Hub. The new terminal will be crucial in maintaining Addis Ababa Bole International Airport’s status as the major gateway to Africa, despite the fact that it surpassed Dubai last year. The new terminal stands out since it is the first terminal to be finished worldwide following Covid-19. It was created with biosecurity and safety in mind, not repurposed. One of the main tenets of Ethiopian’s Vision 2025 is the expansion of the aviation infrastructure. Ethiopian is constantly upgrading airport infrastructure. The new airport’s features are crucial in ensuring the security of both travelers and staff as airport travel becomes contactless.
